Project Description

A student assignment that helped to further develop my skills and experience in re-branding – in this case, The Museum of the City of New York – a museum focusing on artwork, artifacts and photographs that document the history of the infamous American city.

Considering that the Dutch were the first European settlers in New York, I thought that the use of orange – the royal colour of Holland – would be fitting to symbolize the scope of the museums historical documentation.

Sharp, thin and tall lines that make out the NYM symbol are suggestive of the city’s colossal architecture and elegance.

I think my re-design was successful in tapping into both the past and present, which captures the essence of the place.
